Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information I collect through this website and from the ways you contact me, how I use it, and the choices you have. I've tried to keep it plain and short.

Who I am

This site is run by Ember & Ledger LLC, a bookkeeping business in Virginia. In this policy, "I" and "me" mean Ember & Ledger LLC. You can reach me at ember.ledgerco@gmail.com or by text at (540) 509-0152.

What I collect

I collect only what you choose to give me or what is needed to run this website.

Information you send me. This includes your name, company name, phone number, email address, and anything you write in a text or an email.
Free lunch drawing entries. When you enter through the Google Form, I receive your name, company name, phone number, email address, and your favorite restaurants.
Booking details. When you book an intro call through Calendly, I receive your name, email, and anything you add to the booking.
Technical information. Like most websites, the host of this site may record basic visit information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you opened.

This site doesn't use advertising trackers, and I don't set cookies myself.

How I use it

To reply to your messages and answer your questions.
To schedule calls and talk with you about your business.
To run the monthly drawing, contact the winner, and arrange the lunch call.
To provide bookkeeping services, if you become a client. Information you share as a client is also covered by our service agreement.
To keep this website working and secure.

I use your contact details only for the reason you gave them to me. I won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask me to.

Who I share it with

I don't sell your information. I use a few outside services to run my business, and your information passes through them:

Google, for Google Forms (drawing entries), Gmail (email), Google Voice (text messages and my business number), and Google Fonts, which loads the typefaces on this site and receives your IP address when it does.
Calendly, for booking intro calls.
Netlify, which hosts this website.

These companies have their own privacy policies. When you click through to a Google Form or a Calendly page, you are on their site and their policy applies there. I may also share information if the law requires it.

Text messages

If you text me, I'll use your number to reply to you. I won't use it to send promotional texts unless you ask me to. Message and data rates may apply. If you don't want me to text you, tell me and I'll stop.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only as long as I need it for the reason you gave it to me, and then I delete it. For example, I keep drawing entries long enough to run the drawing and contact the winner. Records for clients are kept as described in the service agreement.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Send a message to ember.ledgerco@gmail.com and I'll respond within a reasonable time. You can also ask me to stop contacting you at any time.

Keeping your information safe

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, such as using accounts with strong passwords. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so I can't promise absolute security. Please don't send bank passwords, full account numbers, or Social Security numbers by text or email.

Children

This site is for businesses and adults. The drawing is open only to people 18 and older, and I don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
